The James Webb Space Telescope will use infrared radiation to detect objects that are not visible to the human eye. It will be able to discern minute changes in infrared radiation emitted from a star to detect the presence of an orbiting exoplanet. Additionally, JWST will be able to provide information about the planet’s atmospheric composition.
In this video, Physics Girl explains how the James Webb Space Telescope will increase our knowledge of galaxies, stars, and exoplanets.
