Many, if not most parents, when asked what they desire for their children, would answer “a better life than the one I’ve had.” With years of love, of dedication, of sleeplessness and fatigue, they strive to give them just that, something greater.
Jesus, today, refers to himself twice as “something greater,” and using prophetic language denounces his generation’s lack of belief. When we think of the generations that come after us, what is that “something greater” that we would like to transmit to them? Let us ask for the grace to have the right words, the right actions so that we may transmit the greatest gift of all, faith in, hope in, and love for Jesus Christ.
