Tuesday of the Second Week of Advent
Looking back on our lives, we may become aware of the many things we’ve lost: youth, certain physical or mental abilities. But perhaps those that pain us more than these personal losses are the people we’ve lost along the way, whether they be relationships that fizzled or lives that faded, many far too soon. And we can go about life feeling incomplete.
We can find comfort in today’s gospel, which shows us just how much God values completeness, wholeness and how he goes above and beyond to make it happen. We can live with the hope that someday, somehow the Lord will come to us bearing in his arms all that will make our life complete.
