Thursday of the Third Week of Lent

Personally, I find it quite difficult to let someone else correct me. As a student I ask others to help me by reading a paper that I have drafted for class. All is well, until my brother tells me that I need to fix this paragraph or point. Then I feel the pinch of resentment. Mostly it is from pride. I want help, to be sure, but I want more to be right.

As the Lord tells us through the prophet Jeremiah today, if we truly want to be correct, then we will let Him correct us. More specifically, if we want to be correct, we will listen to those whom God has sent. As we seek to be converted to the Lord during the course of Lent, let us be attentive today to those whom the Lord sends us who draw out of us greater love and patience.
