How often the Lord used the example of little children to teach the essence of the Gospel message. During the coming week, I will go out of my way to examine the relationship children have with their parents so that I may learn why Jesus said this attitude was necessary to enter the kingdom of heaven, and why it calls for a continuous conversion.
In today’s Gospel, he also gives the example of the lost sheep that was found. I’ll spend some time reflecting on the joy, the rejoicing Jesus showed in finding the sheep. Everyone has the call to be a lost sheep, found.
How fortuitous this Gospel is given to us on the feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe. He saw clearly what Jesus says at the end of the Gospel, namely that the Lord wants all to be saved and especially there is not a single person deprived of his saving love. Today I shall pray for those who willfully reject it.
