Monday of the Twenty-third Week in Ordinary Time

Let’s continue yesterday’s theme with today’s responsorial psalm. The Lord does not “delight in wickedness”. Our Lord is infinitely good. He is God, but I am human.

He knows my human nature struggles between choosing good and evil. He became man to deliver the world from evil. Also, he did not come to judge, but to save. That’s his work of “justice” So, “Lead me in your justice, Lord.” That’s my special pray for today.

“Protect them who take refuge in you so that you be the joy of those who love your name.” I know I must struggle each day, but I also know that the Lord will give me strength to choose the good if I ask for it with confidence, and that is the source of joy.

But it is a joy that I must not keep to myself. I must share with others, and today when there is so much fear and anxiety among so many because of the coronavirus and the hate-filled demonstrations throughout our land, my challenge is even greater than ever before to give witness that “those who sow in tears will reap in joy” (Ps. 126, 5).

Mary, cause of our joy. Pray for us.
