Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus

Jesus: nearly carried off and made King because He could feed many with little. Jesus: grandson of a barren couple, son of a virgin mother, the Fullness of Life from the most unlikely sources. Jesus: the tiny seed that shelters the world, the yeast that raises the dough to new life. Jesus: sower of good seed. Jesus: our greatest treasure.

Jesus: “…the resurrection and the life…”

This Jesus, who offers to be your Everything, looks at you from the Cross with love beyond words—for He is the Word sent as the ultimate proof of God’s love for you (John 1:1, 14; 3:16)—and asks, as He asks Martha, His dear friend, “Do you believe this?”

Do you? If you do not, what would it take for your King to tear open the tomb which stifles your faith, for Him to shout “…COME OUT!” (John 11:43)?
