VIRTUE AND FREEDOM, THE SERIES

Virtue and Freedom is a groundbreaking, seven-part series that presents the central guiding principles for living well—as an individual seeking happiness, as a contributing member of society, and as a child of God with an eternal destiny.

Featuring interviews with series writer Fr. Robert J. Spitzer S.J. and the multi-disciplinary team of experts he has assembled Virtue and Freedom draws on ancient and modern wisdom to place the ordinary choices of daily life in their full cosmic context. We learn how to develop the habits of virtue that empower us to advance on the path to happiness and how to contend with evil influences (internal and external) that tempt us away from the path.

EXPLORING OUR PURPOSEFUL CREATION SERIES

Dive into the profound connections between psychology, biology, and cosmology. In the podcast “Psychological Insights for Healing and Growth,” Dr. Matthew Breuninger, a licensed clinical psychologist, discusses the intersection of psychology and faith. He explores topics such as trauma, healing, and virtue formation, offering valuable insights from his clinical work and his book, "Finding Freedom in Christ: Healing Life's Hurts."

Complementing this, our video “The Purposeful Universe - A Conversation with Dr. Dan Kuebler” features Dr. Dan Kuebler discussing the concept of order and its implications for purpose in evolutionary processes. Additionally, in “A Harvard Astrochemist Discusses Big Bang Cosmology,” Dr. Karin Öberg from Harvard University shares her expertise on Big Bang cosmology, providing intriguing comparisons between contemporary and historical cosmological models.

COSMIC ORIGINS DOCUMENTARY

The 21st Century has revealed a remarkable complementarity between physics and faith. The origins of the universe suggest a creation, and the constants and conditions of our universe strongly indicate purpose and design. This documentary responds to issues ranging from string theory, bouncing universes, and multiverses to the indications of creation, purpose, and intelligence amidst it all. This production is at once entertaining—filled with visual effects and graphics—and is informative about the most important questions—and what science can tell us about them.

HAPPINESS, THE SERIES

Aristotle said, “Happiness is the one thing you can choose for itself—everything else is chosen for the sake of Happiness.” In this one phrase, he reveals how happiness affects our view of ourselves, success, purpose in life, and yes, even our Happiness. This one concept controls what we pursue in life and career, who we choose as our friends and spouses, and just about everything we believe and hold dear.

Two lively young narrators—Eric Johnson and Jennifer Milani—help to interpret world-renowned experts who provide contemporary evidence for God, the soul, the resurrection of Jesus, and the purpose of suffering. An illustrated, user-friendly Study Guide with summaries, study questions, definitions, biographies, and references is available.

HAPPINESS, SUFFERING, AND THE LOVE OF GOD VIDEO SERIES

In this series, Fr. Robert Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D., explores happiness in the revealing light of human transcendence and immortality. Beginning with the commonly held principle that different forms of happiness correspond to other fundamental human desires, Fr. Spitzer guides viewers through four distinct but related sources of happiness will ultimately fulfill us.

Along the way, Fr. Spitzer presents fascinating evidence of our spiritual nature from philosophy, psychology, and contemporary studies of near-death experiences and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Ending with an investigation into the mystery of suffering, Fr. Spitzer explains why an unconditionally loving God would allow suffering and offers guidance on how to suffer.
