Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent
We live in times that are especially unpredictable causing so many to worry about the future. Today’s Gospel gives us a good example on how we are to cope.
Joseph was a just man. So, imagine how he reacted when he learned his holy, pure young wife-to-be was pregnant! What torture he endured before putting her aside. It was only responding to a special grace that enabled him to grow in faith, increase his hope for the future and grow in a deeper love for her that enabled him to conform to God’s will, which was to be more demanding fon him in the future.
As Advent comes to an end, each one of us is invited to conform better to God’s will. Joseph can be our model and our intercessor. Don’t hesitate to make him a special friend.
Resolve: During these final days of Advent, I shall make frequent prayers to the Holy Family for people in our society, particularly fathers of families, who seem overwhelmed by the real and imagined challenges of the coming year.
